The Model 42.70 Preamplifier/Filter provides preamplification and filtering of seismometer signals from one channel for the analog version of the Compact Remote Station Model 45.50. The Model PF.70 Preamplifier/Filter provides preamplification and filtering of seismometer signals from 3 channels for the Model 49.65 16-bit digitizer in the Compact Remote Station Model 45.50. The 42.70/PF.70 modules are ideal for remote field operations where performance, reliability, and low power consumption are a prerequisite for demanding operation for long periods of time from batteries. Features of the 42.70/PF.70 include transient protection for the input(s), gains of x1 to x512 in 6 dB steps which are jumper selectable for each channel, and selectable high and low bandpass filters for signal conditioning. The high pass cut-off frequencies are 0.01, 0.2, and 0.5 Hz. The low pass cut-off frequencies are 1, 5, 12.5, and 25 Hz.
